Coiled Construction
Contemporary coiling has become one of my main basketry techniques. I use a continuous core of fibre rush wrapped and stitched with 4 ply waxed linen thread. Patterns are laid in and the piece is shaped as I work my way up the form. These small baskets are a labour of love that take long hours over weeks, or months to complete.
